What is a blackout fabric? Blackout fabrics are essential in the contract world, as they allow for complete darkness inside rooms with total security. Their fabric completely blocks light and is essential in hotel bedrooms. In fact, one of the principles for proper rest is achieving total darkness.
In Comersan's case, we go a step further, as the fabric is completely free of synthetic coatings. That is, other fabrics in this range usually have a rubberized layer between the textiles, which gives it an unnatural, plasticky, and uninviting look.
In the case of the blackout fabric, known as Ultradark, from Comersan, we achieve a fabric with a much more natural drape, easy to wash (essential for contract fabrics), with sun protection and the possibility of complete customization. From our factory, we can make it in various colors, in any shade, or with patterns that match the rest of the decor.
Complete room opacity, EN 14501 standard
At Comersan, we have achieved a darkness 1,000 times greater than other fabrics with similar characteristics. In this regard, to assess the darkness they achieve, one must refer to the EN 14501 standard, which requires total blackout fabrics to be tested up to 75,000 lux.
At the same time, like the rest of the fabric, it has the OEKO-TEX® standard, which guarantees that the fabrics are free of harmful substances, and the fire protection certificate, which is especially important for commercial and contractual applications.
Within blackout fabrics , there are different textures and effects to adapt to any space. Specifically, you can check out the new collections: Geodark, Natudark, Uridark, Velvedark, and Cosmodark.
